Cathy Dzerefos - B. Slater

Cathy Dzerefos has an M.Sc. (Ecology) from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and has recieved a Green Globe award for Environmental Activism from the Miss Earth organisation in 2011 . She is registered with the South African Institute of Ecologists and Environmental Scientists and is a founder member of the Botanical Society - Limpopo Branch. For the last twenty years, she has undertaken research with a strong emphasis on ecological and socio-economics of rural areas within the Savanna and Grassland Biomes. Cathy has successfully applied participatory methods to include natural resource users and is committed to dissemination of information to communities. Her work has been published widely in international and national scientific journals and in the popular press. Cathy is presently registered for a Phd on edible insects. Cathy serves on the Limpopo Environmental Advisory Body to the MEC Mr Pitsi Moloto and previously to Mr Collins Chabane.
